Employee of the Year

Congratulations, Penny Hoisington!!
Penny Hoisington, in her 34th year at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, has been selected the 2010 Employee of the Year in recognition of her many contributions. Penny has been described by her peers as a joy to work with as she never ceases to amaze them with regard to her work ethic, productivity, gentleness, efficiency, friendliness toward all and her positive attitude.
Beginning as a nurse’s aide in 1976 on the surgery floor, Penny moved to the intensive care department in 1985 as the Unit Secretary and has ministered there for the past 25 years. In addition to her contributions to the department, she is always uplifting and a great encourager to her co-workers. She can often be heard complementing someone for a job well done and she is quick to ask how she can assist others – although she usually sees what needs to be done, and does it – before anyone can mention it.
Penny is described as handling change like a champion. While a bit fearsome of the new clinical documentation program, she has conquered it and has become a resource person for those who need help. When the ICU is extra busy or hectic, Penny is at her best!
We are proud to honor Penny as the 2010 Employee of the Year for her embodiment of our mission and values and for being a part of the team of “People Committed to Life.”
