Emergency Service & Minor Care
Open House planned for Emergency Services Expansion
The Emergency Services and Minor Care expansion project was initiated to meet the needs of the patients and families we serve. The project responds to the national, regional, and local changes in the delivery of health care services. St. Joseph Regional Medical Center has experienced a significant growth in emergency services over the past ten years. Our new facility has been designed to meet the unique health care needs associated with the volume of growth we now experience. With the newly remodeled and expanded rooms, we are able to assure more timely service, better privacy, ease of access and quality of service, combined with experienced, compassionate nursing staff and physicians.
The remodel achieves an increased availability of emergency department services as it will expand from eight to eleven rooms. Two additional trauma rooms were added to bring the total to five. Trauma rooms are large, state of the art suites that are designed and equipped to care for victims of trauma. St Joseph Regional Medical Center is a designated trauma center, offering specially trained staff certified in the care of trauma patients.
For the comfort of our patients and families, Emergency Services waiting area post triage was moved into Emergency Department suite to enhance ability to observe patients and ensure safety. Patient registration was increased by two more private spaces to improve patient flow through the Emergency Department. These registration areas can also double as additional triage areas when needed.
Consistent with our mission and philosophy, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center has been committed to providing quality health care services to all residents of the valley and surrounding region, regardless of race, creed, religion, national origin, ability to pay, or economic status for over 109 years. We continue to accept the responsibility of being a leader in the provision of quality, cost effective health care services for the region.
Open House is planned for Tuesday September 15 from 3pm to 6pm. We will be offering tours and reception of the new facility.
