St. Joseph Regional Medical Center is proud of the Diagnostic Services we offer.
Bone Density testing
Bone density testing is an enhanced form of x-ray called dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). DXA is a quick, painless method of measuring bone loss. Measurements of the lower spine and hips are performed most frequently. Other bones can also be measured.
At St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, we use state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) software with the latest of reconstruction techniques to analyze images. This software provides 3-D reconstruction of images, transmitted to board-certified radiology specialists for diagnosis.
When it comes to digital mammography, not all systems are the same. Other facilities in the Quad Cities region may offer digital mammography, but St. Joseph Regional Medical Center provides the only GE Senographe Essential in the region. This means your average dose will be up to 60% lower and that's 30-60% lower than all the other systems, while still providing higher detector efficiency.
MRI services are delivered using a Digital GE MRI unit and state-of-the-art software for reconstruction. This advanced MRI technolocy improves both acquisition speed and resolution for better image quality and greater patient comfort.
We're equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from Siemens. The camera provides faster imaging time with some of the highest-quality resolution available on the market today.
Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, is a method of obtaining images from inside the body by using high frequency sound waves. These waves are reflected off organs and are recorded to provide real-time visual images. Unlike x-rays and CT scans, ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation.
