Safe Sitter

This two-day course provides an in-depth instructional program on the basics of child care and child safety. The course is designed for students eleven years of age and older.

The course includes:

  • Infant & child rescue breathing & choking rescue
  • Safety & security precaution
  • Feeding
  • Entertaining & toileting
  • Behavior & injury management
  • Recognizing emergency situations & phoning for help

To become a Safe Sitter, students must pass both a written and a practical examination. A student manual is included in the course. Students should bring a sack lunch. Pre-Registration is required. Graduation ceremony held at the end of the second day.

Class fee: $35
Time: Day One: 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Day Two: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Conference Room C at the Medical Center
